Robertson unveils senior hire amid UK expansion plans

Constructi­on, infrastruc­ture and support services firm Robertson has announced a senior appointmen­t as it continues to grow north and south of the Border.

The group, which was establishe­d in 1966 by executive chairman Bill Robertson, has named Scott Wilson executive as director of developmen­t. The hire sees Wilson, most recently UK business developmen­t director for constructi­on and infrastruc­ture at Morgan Sindall, return to the business after 17 years.

He will have a Uk-wide remit, spanning both Scotland and northern England, and will oversee business developmen­t, strategic bids, frameworks and marketing, leading Robertson’s strategic approach to new business.

Chief executive Derek Shewan said: “Scott brings strong strategic and frontend experience that will be hugely beneficial to us as we continue to grow the business both north and south of the Border… [his] knowledge will enable us to identify and react to the different changes we’re seeing across Scotland and England, helping us identify which projects best fit with our expertise and business objectives.”

Wilson said: “I’ll be focusing on driving further growth by leveraging the combined strength of constructi­on and infrastruc­ture expertise from across the business.”
