Police car search uncovers £350k of ‘street drugs’

Police have seized £350,000 worth of drugs after searching a car in Glasgow.

Officers on patrol in Hawthorn Street spotted the driver, who stopped the car and left before being traced with help from the police helicopter. Sniffer dogs were used to search the car and heroin along with 8,500 tablets, believed to be diazepam, were found, with an estimated street value of around £350,000.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Thursday’s incident and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
