A council-owned transport company has been accused of banning bus enthusiasts from taking pictures on its vehicles in a security crackdown. Lothian Buses is said to have ordered drivers to stop people taking pictures of the interiors of buses. What about the cameras on buses recording passengers?

Derek Stirling The management seem to be having a Christmas meltdown. It’s a pity drivers and passengers don’t have better leadership.

Tommy Mcmartin Curious to know how this is going to be enforced.

Eniko Haar They can’t police this or ask the driver to look out for this. The town is bad enough to drive in with road closures, road works etc. I’d rather the driver was concentrating on driving.

Loulou Raff Who’s going to stop anyone

taking pictures? The only thing that will cause is more aggro for the drivers.

Susan Grant Mason It’s to stop people getting a city tour for £1.70.

Colin Reilly About a year and a half ago I was waiting to board the bus when a passenger assaulted the driver. A young lad on the bus videoed it, which helped the police track down the culprit very quickly. So I for one think this rule is detrimental for the safety of your drivers and the public.

Honour Pettiglio Every time I am at a bus stop I am going to take pictures of every bus that passes and post them online.

Mike Shogunai Ooh. I’m quaking in my boots, so I am! The big, bad bus photie police might get me.
