‘I’m here if he needs my help’

-

Neil Lennon has been public about his own battles with depression and says he would be happy to talk to Leigh Griffiths about his personal issues as the Celtic striker takes a break from the game to receive professional help.

When asked if he would be willing to speak to his former player, the Hibs manager said: “No problem – I have done that with many players and many people in different walks of life as well. I have been very public with it over the years and I have no problem with that at all, I think it’s important.

“It has probably been there from the year dot but maybe people in the 70s, 80s and 90s weren’t keen to talk about it. Now we are more aware of it, it can be remedied quicker rather than suffering in silence.”
