Evans: ‘New show will be all hands on deck – including my children’
Chris Evans has said he will try to involve his family – including his children – as much as he can in his new breakfast radio show.
Evans will host his first show on Virgin Radio on 21 January as he returns to the station almost 20 years after he left.
It will be his first time on the airwaves since he left the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show in December.
Evans said that guest appearances from his family, his wife Natasha Shishmanian and their children, are to be expected.
He said: “I have been chal- 0 Chris Evans starts his new breakfast show on 21 January
lenged, to what extent will I involve my family in order to make the brand-new Virgin Radio Breakfast Show a hit. The answer is infinite.
“I’m sorry but that’s just the way it is, it’s all hands-on deck here including the little ones!”
The 52-year-old presenter had been at the BBC station since 2005, and had the coveted breakfast slot since January 2010.
In his final show at Radio 2 last month, Evans invited Shishmanian to join him for an emotional appearance where she read out a letter written by him in the voice of their sons Noah, nine and Eli, six.
Noah has appeared on Evans’ former breakfast show a number of times.
The Chris Evans Breakfast Show starts at 6:30am on Monday 21 January on Virgin Radio.
