Woman swept to death at sea named by police

A woman who died after being swept into the sea in the Western Isles has been named by police.

Agnes Proudhon-smith, 50, was recovered from the water by helicopter on the Isle of Harris on Wednesday. The Londoner was transporte­d to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway where she was pronounced dead.

The coastguard received a call to Nisabost beach near Horgabost at 7:45am.
