Theresa May go
Theresa May is returning from another tumultuous Brussels summit amid warnings that her premiership is on the line. But she faces a Tory Party losing patience with her leadership and threats that MPS could now seize control of the withdrawal process.
I think that there is plenty of polling evidence that we, the people, would now vote in favour of Remain, a much better option than even the softest of Brexits. In order to respect the 2016 vote, which is hugely important, we need another vote.

I doubt the majority who voted in 2016 actually knew what they were voting for. Time and again, the cause for concern was seen to be immigration, but the distinction between EU and non-eu immigration was never made. Tory MPS who voted Leave (or didn’t vote at all) and who now complain about the lack of fruit pickers for their farms now realise the consequences.

Don’t they have to wait for a year to challenge for leadership?

13 December 2018: “A loud cheer erupted among Tory MPS as the chair of the backbench 1922 Committee, Sir Graham Brady, announced: “The result of the ballot held this evening is that the parliamentary party does have confidence in Theresa May” – and confirmed that she could not now be challenged for another year.’
Ah’m No Bluffin’
By the rules, but the party could make her position untenable. Bad as she is, who would replace her?

This is a horrible situation. I think May needs to go. It’s torture watching her. Nobody has any faith in her. However, those who want to use this situation to push their independence agenda are only causing more trouble and have no answers...

Maybe the thing to do is leave with the best deal possible, and on Dayone post-leave announce a referendum to rejoin. That way, the majority get their democratic collective voice acted upon, and there can be another chance to change the decision.
Big Dafty
The problem with leaving is that new members need to join the euro. We can pretend we do not, but we do. The big error we made was doing all our dirty washing in public. Did you see any in fighting from the EU 27? No, because we have done all their work for them.
I know you know
Changing leader won’t change the arithmetic. There is not a majority for any of the options.

Theresa May is a Remainer and at least presented a deal that was agreed with the EU. If May goes, who has a greater ability of renegotiating a new deal with the EU? We are about to end up with a more right-wing, pro-brexit PM.
