Bomb thrown at house in Ireland

Residents have been evacuated from their homes in Co Louth after a suspected improvised explosive device was thrown at a house.

Gardai were called to the scene of the incident in Drogheda.

It is understood the device was thrown at the house at around 11:30am yesterday in Rathmullen Park, but did not explode.

The device was located at the property and the scene cordoned off by gardai while the army explosive ordnance disposal team examined the area.
