Mueller result ‘a disgrace’, says Russia

- By MARGARET NEIGHBOUR

Russian officials have branded Robert Mueller’s probe into allegations of collusion between the country and President Donald Trump as “a disgrace”.

Mueller’s report found no evidence that Trump’s campaign “conspired or coordinated” with Russian officials to influence the 2016 election. Russian officials and state media have vehemently denied that the Kremlin wanted Trump to win and was helping him in the campaign. “The results of Mueller’s investigation are a disgrace for the U.S. and its political elites,” said Alexei Pushkov, chairman of the information committee at the Federation Council.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia has never interfered in elections adding: “It’s hard to find a black cat in a dark room, especially if it isn’t there.”

The reactions avoided discussing the 34 people, including six Trump aides and advisers and 25 Russians, who were charged during the investigation.
