Glasgow furnishings business in rescue sale

A Glasgow-based maker and distributor of soft furnishings and furniture has been bought out of administration.

Blair Nimmo and Alistair Mcalinden of KPMG had been appointed joint administrators of Voyage Decoration at the end of last week. The business and its assets have been sold to Ashley Wilde Designs, which is part of Hatfield-based Ashley Wilde Group.

Established in 1998, Voyage is said to have an annual turn- over of £12 million with a “loyal blue-chip customer base”. Ashley Wilde will continue to trade the business from Glasgow.

Nimmo said: “We are delighted to have been able to successfully conclude a sale to Ashley Wilde, protecting jobs and allowing the business to go on to the next stage of its development.

“The strength of the Voyage brand and the level of its ongoing order book will give the new owners a fantastic base from which to develop the business further,” he added.
