British tourist dies snowboarding

A British tourist has died while snowboarding in Andorra.

The 59-year-old man lost control and hit a tree before suffering a cardiac arrest, according to a statement from the Grandvalira ski resort. He was alone at the time of the incident, on the Avet slope, a black run recommended for experienced skiers. The resort said emergency rescue teams rushed to help him.

“They transferred him to the bottom of the slope,” the statement said. “Despite all efforts to revive him, he died minutes later.”
