Imagine: Charles and Camilla take a seat on Cuba’s John Lennon bench

-

0 The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall enjoyed a seat on the John Lennon memorial bench in John Lennon Square in Havana, Cuba, as part of an impromptu walkabout during their historic trip to celebrate cultural ties between the UK and the Communist state. The popular artwork by Cuban artist Jose Villa Soberon was commissioned by Cuba’s ministry of culture in recognition of the annual concerts staged in the park since 1990. Charles at first posed by the seat with his wife and when asked to sit by the press, said ‘there isn’t room for two’ but eventually sat down.
