Hamilton Accies Imrie will be missed
The week’s big news isn’t the chaos in Westminster or Scotland’s abject display in Kazakhstan; it is the announcement that Accies legend Dougie Imrie will hang up his boots at the end of the season to focus on coaching with the club’s excellent youth academy
He made the 500th appearance of his career against Hearts and his first action was to pass straight to a Hearts player – so maybe it’s not before time! Dougie has been a hugely influential player for us, with his dead ball delivery, captaincy and general noising up of the opposition players and fans. He gets taunts from the stands at virtually every game, which suits him fine and seems to help him play at his best. Although his playing contributions have been declining, he’ll be badly missed. Thanks, Dougie.
