Aberdeen Real leaders

- Steve Wilson

It takes a real leader to stand up and accept blame for mistakes and Graeme Shinnie is the epitome of a real leader. Unfortunately, in a noticeably absent “I’m Spartacus” moment the rest of the squad failed to display the same integrity. In fairness, some players were still clutching notes from their mammies excusing them from that nasty surface so probably couldn’t stand up and be counted even if they wanted.

It was reassuring, among the pundits such as Gordon Dalziel who hopped on the bandwagon to criticise Shinnie while protecting friends and team-mates, to see Derek Mcinnes, another good example of a proper leader, rightly back Graeme. It’s perhaps the ability and professionalism of these critical “pundits” that should be questioned before Graeme Shinnie’s is.
