- By DOUGLAS BARRIE

An elderly woman was robbed of jewellery and money in her Glasgow home by a gang of three men.

The gang forced their way into the 84-year-old’s home on Bowhouse Drive, Castlemilk, at around 9:20pm on Tuesday and ransacked the property.

The pensioner was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital having injured her wrist during the incident.

All three suspects are only identified as being male and white. However police inquiries have revealed an Audi car was seen in the area at the time. Officers are appealing for information and are in the process of obtaining CCTV footage. Detective Inspector Clark Hill said: “This has been a very frightening experience for an elderly lady in her own home.

“She has sustained an injury in the incident and has lost items of jewellery which are extremely precious to her. “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time.”
