Morton Downward spiral
Paris, 2007. My first Scotland away trip. James Mcfadden delivered one of the most memorable strikes in Scotland’s history. It’s a game every Scotland fan remembers and will never forget.
I was next to my father that evening. I was 11. As we walked out of the stadium, he turned to me and apologised. Confusion plastered across my face, he continued by saying: “That’s the greatest moment of your Scotland career – it’s all downhill from here I’m afraid.” And, sadly, he was right. Last weekend, I stumbled home from San Marino – a country with the worst footballing team in the world – after seeing Scotland struggle to a 2-0 victory. A clearout is needed from head to toe in order to save a campaign that is only two games old.
