Ross County Title race back on

- John Maxwell

A fortnight ago I thought the title race was over. But Dundee United’s win over Ross County and their two subsequent victories have put a different spin on things, with the lead cut to two points. The Staggies still have two games in hand, but they are midweek fixtures against Inverness CT and Dunfermline, so six points is not guaranteed. The final fixture between County and United will have a huge say in the outcome of who wins the league. In the meantime, County won the Challenge Cup in difficult fashion. They won’t come across opponents like Connah’s Quay Nomads every day, with rugbystyle lineouts and aggressive defending almost causing a fright. County had the quality to prevail and they can still do so in the league as well.
