Chelsea will face holders Lyon in the Women’s Champions League semifinals after Maren Mjelde’s dramatic late goal secured a 3-2 aggregate victory over Paris St Germain in the French capital.

The Blues were without suspended Scotland forward Erin Cuthbert, who scored in their 2-0 first-leg win, and PSG pulled themselves level in the last-eight tie early in the second half through Kadidiatou Diani’s 47th-minute effort and an own goal nine minutes later by Chelsea keeper Annkatrin Berger.

PSG went close a number of times thereafter before Mjelde struck in stoppage time to make it 2-1 on the night and send Emma Hayes’ side through.

Lyon advanced following a 4-2 win at Wolfsburg – the side they beat in last year’s final – that saw them triumph 6-3 on aggregate.

The French side looked to be cruising into the last four after a Dzsenifer Marozsan free-kick in the eighth minute and Wendie Renard penalty in the 25th extended their overall lead.

Wolfsburg’s hopes were then boosted by quick-fire goals from Pernille Harder in the 53rd and 56th minutes, before the visitors replied on the hour mark through Eugenie Le Sommer, whoaddedhersecond with ten minutes of normal time remaining.
