Change at top for Wickes firm

Wickes owner Travis Perkins has announced that chief executive and company veteran John Carter is to step down.

He will be succeeded as CEO by Nick Roberts, currently boss of engineering firm Atkins, who will join the business as a director and CEO designate on 1 July. Carter will step down from the Travis board on 5 August but remain with the group until the end of 2019.
