Giorgio Moroder

-

Giorgio Moroder’s trailblazing studio work on Donna Summer’s disco anthem I Feel Love truly influenced the course of dance music. Now in the age of the superstar Dj/producer, the 78-year-old studio legend has chosen to venture beyond the mixing desk and embark on his first ever tour, celebrating the hedonistic sound he forged with a live band and vocalists. Perhaps there might even be room for his first ever hit, Chicory Tip’s rollicking Son of My Father... to Jo Clifford’s rousing version of Taming of the Shrew at the Tron. If you want to see 21st century theatre firing on all cylinders, though, don’t miss Stef Smith’s Nora, presented by the Citizens’ at the Tramway; not only a breathtaking new vision of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, in which the history of women’s subtle oppression passes from generation to generation – and back again – through the last century, but also a superb piece of total theatre, featuring a thrilling set by Tom Piper, and powerful music by Michael John Mccarthy.
