Absolutely ... my father faced death with quiet stoicism and dignity but was subjected to a terrifying final 30 minutes as he struggled to breathe and finally suffocated as his (hospitalac­quired pneumonia) own mucus gradually closed his airway. Painting a white line along a road doesn’t make a proper cycle lane. Competent cyclists should be able to use all parts of the road anyway. What is more important is that these cars appear to be straddling the pavement.
