Celtic: How they rated
SCOTT BAIN
Goalkeeper who has displaced Craig Gordon didn’t have a save to make before Ryan Kent’s strike went in off his feet. Spilled Kent’s late strike but saw the rebound cleared.
MIKAEL LUSTIG
The big Swede defended well and looked assured at the back throughout. Made a good impact going forward down the right flank as Celtic dominated the opening half.
DEDRYCK BOYATA
Ropey in possession but solid in defence until left flat-footed as Kent burst past him to equalise. Went off injured with 15 minutes left to leave his team with ten men.
KRISTOFFER AJER
Certainly one of Celtic’s most impressive performers. Strolled through the first half and made an excellent clearance to prevent Joe Worrall netting a late equaliser.
KIERAN TIERNEY
Missed Scotland’s recent double-header but was fit to start this one. Made a positive start and came close with a powerful strike but his pre-match calf injury forced him off.
SCOTT BROWN
Did the simple things well but biggest contribution was subtly provoking Alfredo Morelos, the Colombian responding with a wild swing of his arm to see red yet again.
OLIVIER NTCHAM
Impressed in the heart of Celtic’s midfield on his first appearance of the year following injury. Inevitably ran out of steam and was replaced just after the hour mark.
CALLUM MCGREGOR
Typically busy display by the Scotland international and his interception and quick thinking helped set up the winner. Was playing left-back by that point after Boyata’s exit.
JAMES FORREST
A sublime first-time pass set up the opener and he finished calmly to secure the victory. Again a big player in the big moments. Surely a player-of-the-year candidate.
JONNY HAYES
Winger got round the outside a couple of times and delivered some decent balls in the first half. After a booking he was taken off to ensure the teams were not evened up.
ODSONNE EDOUARD
Led the line superbly, threatened several times and finished brilliantly to open the scoring. His composure allowed him to pick out Forrest for the winner.
