Students on cloud nine as fifth title in a row is secured

HOCKEY: Edinburgh University won their fifth consecutive women’s first division title in style, thumping Hillhead 9-1 on the last day of competition. Hanna Mckie was top scorer with four, there were two each by Amy Brodie and Zara Malseed while Bridie Marlow got the other. Rivals Clydesdale Western lost 2-1 at home to third-placed Dundee Wanderers.

In the men’s league, already crowned champions Grange lost their unbeaten record with a 1-0 reverse at Grove Menzieshill, who stay second, a point ahead of Western Wildcats who defeated Watsonians 6-5.
