Gun goes off during attempt at pub robbery

A firearm has been discharged during an attempted robbery at a West Dunbartonshire pub.

Two men wearing balaclavas and another man whose face was covered by a scarf entered the Twisted Thistle pub in Old Kilpatrick at about 10:15pm on Sunday.

They made off in a vehicle along Dumbarton Road towards Dumbarton after the robbery attempt.

None of the pubs occupants – three female members of staff and a male customer – were injured and nothing was stolen.

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage.
