21-year-old accused of raping woman

A man has been charged after a 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Aberdeen.

The alleged incident happened between 3:15am and 4:15am on Saturday inside a property in the city’s Raeburn Place area.

Police said a 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.

Forensic teams had scoured the scene following the attack, with officers carrying out door-to-door inquiries.

Det Insp Allen Shaw said the alleged victim had “understandably been left extremely upset”.
