Cancer charity signs water supply deal with Business Stream

Cancer Research UK has become the latest organisati­on to agree a water supply contract with Edinburghh­eadquarter­ed Business Stream.

The firm, which is a whollyowne­d subsidiary of Scottish Water with its own board, said the deal is designed to help the charity save water and money across its sites in Scotland and England. The contract award followed a competitiv­e tendering process.

Jo Dow, chief executive of Business Stream, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Cancer Research UK to provide water expertise across the majority of their sites in Scotland and England.

“By working closely with Cancer Research UK we will help them to generate water and waste water efficienci­es, which in turn will deliver both environmen­tal and financial savings.”

Martin Elliott, head of retail property operations at Cancer Research UK, added: “As a large charity, it is vital that we are operating as efficientl­y as possible, both in terms of internal processes and in spend on utilities. By working with Business Stream, we can reduce the time spent on managing billing and instead focus on working with Business Stream to manage water more effectivel­y”.
