#NODEALBREXIT

Theresa May’s Cabinet have met to discuss the UK Government’s next steps after Parliament again rejected a series of different Brexit options on Monday night. EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said the UK leaving without a deal is now more likely unless Mrs May can get her withdrawal deal through.

@Eyeedinburgh questioned: “Are we seriously supposed to believe Keir Starmer when he claims he cares very much that the UK not crash out without a deal, but won’t support @joannaccherry’s motion to prevent #Nodealbrexit because – he claims – he thinks Friday 12th April is a nice long way off?”

@opheliasbrother stated: “It’s clear now that #Nodealbrexit is the priority of the Tory Ultras. They, with the DUP, will without a qualm sacrifice May and her allies on the altar of ‘sovereignty’.”

@Mrobrist declared: “I’m sick to the back teeth. Let’s just get the hell out of there #Leavemeansleave.”

#CLIMATEBILL

A proposed new law to bring in tougher climate change targets in Scotland has faced its first hurdle at Holyrood amid calls for more urgent action. @Cailynmcmahon tweeted: “The 100 biggest companies cause 70% of global gas emissions. Yes, individuals have a part to play, but climate change can only be halted by tough legislation on corporations, not on individual people.” @katewhitaker1 posted: “After sitting through this afternoon’s climate bill stage 1 debate. I am genuinely worried several MSPS don’t actually understand what climate change is.”

#KHASHOGGI

Journalist Jamal Khashoggi was brutally killed at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul on 2 October. Half a year later, his colleagues are still looking for answers. @Karenattiah posted: “Today marks 6 months that @Washingtonpost writer Jamal #Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. The Saudi regime has killed the man, but they cannot silence what he stood for. Please take some time to read and share Jamal’s work.” @Jaxalemany claimed: “Sadly, the most submissive figure in this story is President Trump.”
