Dundee Too much loyalty

- Gary Cocker

People often decry the lack of loyalty in football, but I’m beginning to wish my own club was a little less loyal. Refusing to sack Neil Mccann harmed our start to the season, and now Jim Mcintyre’s unwavering belief in Martin Woods is harming our chances of staying up.

Although hardly anybody, other than Andrew Nelson, is popular in this tough year, Woods has attracted the ire of fans with his poor decisionmaking, erratic passing and woeful set-pieces, and came in for some real pelters following a crucial defeat by St Mirren. Centre midfielders are perhaps more exposed than most to such criticism, but there’s no doubt that something is not right in the middle of the park, and the decline of paulmc go wan hash armed our cause more than some people would think.
