St Johnstone Revival hopes dashed

- SJ

After a win against a poor St Mirren team, the hope was it might inspire a wee revival. Those who believed top six was possible before the game were kidding themselves. Another penalty miss against Motherwell was met with muted acceptance. An all-too-frequent lapse in concentration gifted the opener. Until then neither team looked to have the guile to conjure a goal. This performance will probably be the final straw for some of the hard-core away support.

It would be good to think players will play with a greater freedom with little to play for, though facing teams fighting for survival may prove to be just as, if not more, difficult. But – bottom line – three clubs would swap positions with us now.
