Dying for change

-

In a recent poll taken in Scotland, 87 per cent of respondees backed the idea that terminally ill people with less than six months to live should have the right to die in dignity.

When is the SNP going to listen to the Scottish people in matters of importance such as this, rather than blindly banging the independence drum against the will of the Scottish people?

Roseanna Cunningham (your report, 3 April) wants Scotland (0.13 per cent of the world’s CO2 emissions) to be a “world leader” in decarbonisation, and cites flooding and cyclones to substantiate her claims about climate change. Like Europhiles who confuse the EU with Europe, she confuses weather and climate.

If the SNP were to aim for Scotland to be a “world leader” in reduction of fuel poverty, which phasing out gas for heating will increase, that would have merit.

A world-leading health service, world-leading education and world class roads would really make a difference to the people of Scotland, rather than making energy and transport more difficult, more expensive and less reliable in the name of the quasi religion of anthropogenic global warming.
