Nicola Sturgeon flew to London yesterday to hold urgent talks with Prime Minister Theresa May over Brexit. The First Minister also met Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and said she would be “surprised and very disappointed” if the party sold out for the “bad deal” likely to be available from Mrs May.

@hop55991720 wrote: “In my opinion Sturgeon does not want Brexit resolved because she sees it as a mechanism to push Scotland into 2nd independence referendum. This is cynical, dishonest but unfortunately predictable.”

@iarmson said: “Best wishes from Leeds, Nicola! I’m right behind the SNP against this Brexit farce.”

@speckledjim3 said: “I assume she is there to talk about how to moan for years if you don’t get the result you want in a referendum.”

@Linjan08822743 added: “I’m English, and happy to say that without the excellent SNP and FM interventions this whole Brexit mess would be even worse. They have been logical and consistent and I for one am very grateful.”

@Heddle100 tweeted: “The appalling thing about Ms Sturgeon and her party is that they wish to leave The United Kingdom, to be ruled by unelected officials in Brussels. So much for Scottish independence – it beggars belief ”

#NASA

Speeding up efforts to put astronauts back on the Moon will enable Nasa to bring a Mars landing closer, the space agency’s chief has said. Nasa plans to honour President Donald Trump’s desire to put humans back on the lunar surface by 2024, with a mission to Mars penned in for 2033.

@weesally tweeted: “He will prefer it to Scotland. Why wait till 2024! Do they do helmets that big, aye?”

@Patrickjdohert4 wrote: “Aliens will be here before then, save the money. Humans don’t need to ruin the universe, we have done an excellent job of destroying the earth.” Firm sceptic @Mariscal_mx said: “It will be hard to return to the moon, especially when they have never gone before.”

@Johnnyrfowler1 added: “Did you all sleep from 1969 until now? We’ve been to the moon. I thought Mars was the next goal.”

And @Felinefancy said: “Just send Donald to the moon and leave him there, OK?”
