Duty of care: Lord-lieutenant reopens Gullane nursing home after £9m revamp

A Gullane care home has been officially reopened by Major Michael Williams, Lord-lieutenant of East Lothian, pictured centre, following a £9 million rebuilding and expansion project. Muirfield nursing home, operated by Edinburgh-based Randolph Hill Nursing Homes, has been redevelope­d with the creation of 60 en suite rooms and 30 additional jobs, bringing the site headcount to 80. Randolph Hill owns and operates six homes in Scotland and employs more than 500 staff. MD Peter Mccormick, left, said the investment had “transforme­d” the site.
