Held at Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort in Provence, the event is the first of the new season on the LET Access Series, a development circuit for the main tour. “I’m excited to have signed with the Five Star Sports Agency,” said Mccook, who has joined Vic Open winner David Law and Craig Lawrie in being signed up by the company.

“I am looking forward to working with Paul Lawrie and the team and I am grateful to them for taking me on board.”

Joining the Grantown-onspey player in flying the Saltire in the first of 20 events on this season’s circuit are Laura Murray, Rachael Taylor, Gabrielle Macdonald and Jane Turner.

The latter heads into the new campaign with a spring in her step after winning the Supersport Ladies Challenge, an event on the Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa, at the end of February.

“Going out to play on the Sunshine Tour has been a great way to start my season, said Turner, an ambassador for Dalmahoy. “I believe that you can practice as much as you like but playing competitively is a different feeling altogether.

“My plan of getting some tournament rounds under my belt before the first LETAS event, especially winning the Supersport Ladies Challenge at Wild Coast, will be key to having a strong start to my year.

“It’s been a fantastic feeling coming home with a trophy and finishing 11th on the Order of Merit gives me a real confidenceboostleadingupto Terre Blanche.”

Norway’s Marita Engzelius defends the title in the 54-hole event in France.
