App leads to slavery reports

Drivers have made more than 900 reports of potential slavery at hand car washes using a new app.

They were among 2,271 completed entries on the Safe Car Wash app, launched last year by the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales.

Users spotted potential signs of modern slavery, including staff who did not have suitable protective clothing, cashonly policies and fearful-looking workers. Children working on site were also noted in some reports.
