All about Bibi: Israel prepares to vote in election dubbed a Netanyahu referendum

Mr Netanyahu – sometimes called “King Bibi” – has dominated the country’s politics for the best part of three decades and a victory would make him the longestser­ving Israeli PM, surpassing founding father David Bengurion. The election campaign has been a three-month rollercoas­ter of mudslingin­g and scandals, and Mr Netanyahu faces a strong challenge from Benny Gantz, a former army chief.
