Coming-of-age movies inspire Fringe acrobats

Acrobats from Los Angeles will be staging a circus show inspired by classic Hollywood coming-of-age movies at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The 1980s-theme show Filament, which has been created by Short Round Production­s, will make its UK debut in Edinburgh in August.

Promoters Underbelly, who unveiled the full line-up for its Circus Hub venue on the Meadows today, say it will “dive into the trials and tribulatio­ns of growing up and discoverin­g who you are.”

Other highlights include Super Sunday, a Finnish show which will feature a rollercoas­ter ride, human catapults, 0 Filament will make its UK debut in Edinburgh in August

a Russian bar, a double trampoline and a “Wheel of Death.”

Australian shows include Yuck Circus, who promise a show which will see “a powerhouse of female circus performers kick art in the face, and Le Coup, which will turn the Circus Hub Spiegelten­t into “a late-night neo-vaudeville speakeasy.”
