- By EMMA NEWLANDS

Menzies Distribution, which was spun out of Edinburgh-based John Menzies, has struck a five-year deal with a print media printing and delivery service.

Menzies has joined forces with Newsprinters under an agreement which will see the former provide bulk distribution of newspapers and magazines from the latter’s sites into wholesale locations across the UK.

In addition, Newsprinters’ parent company, News UK– whose titles include The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times – has signed a contract with Menzies Distribution to carry out deliveries to more than 40 per cent of the UK retail network for the next five years from this July.

Menzies Distribution chief executive Greg Michael said: “We’re pleased to be embarking on an enlarged five year partnership to fulfil [Newsprinters’] primary logistics trunking services.”

In September John Menzies concluded the sale of Menzies Distribution to Endless LLP, closing its chapter in the print media sector to focus on aviation.
