St Johnstone Tale of two games

- SJ

Saints got the wee bits of luck needed to win last Wednesday’s game against Dundee who played well but fell apart in front of goal. The game was played at a good tempo, helped by a big improvement in retaining possession, the quality of passing and movement off the ball.

Against Killie on Saturday, the slackness, lack of composure and needlessly giving away possession, all too prevalent since the break, made it easy for the home side. The only positive from Saturday’s game was the performance of Liam Gordon, who denied Killie a number of good goalscoring opportunities. He outshone Joe Shaughnessy, whose loss of form appears affected by uncertainty over his future.
