Man seriously injured in attack by armed gang

A man has been taken to hospital after a violent and sustained attack.

The incident happened at around 10:40pm on Tuesday in William Street, Hamilton.

Police said the 25-yearold victim had just got out of his car when three men attacked him with “a mix of sharp and blunt weapons”.

They said the “incredibly violent and sustained attack” may have been preplanned.

He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital, East Kilbride, where his condition was last night described as serious but stable.
