#BLACKHOLEDAY
The first photograph of a black hole has been released, depicting its hot, shadowy edges where light bends around itself in a cosmic funhouse effect.
@Astrokatie exclaimed: “First ever direct image of a black hole! The supermassive black hole in the galaxy M87 – 6.5 billion times as massive as the Sun! #EHT #Blackhole The image is better than I expected!”
@Giacomopolce declared: “Take a look at what humanity can achieve!”
@bernichr pondered: “The #Blackhole picture looks like the Eye of Sauron. Are we... are we Middle-space?”
@larissapolitics added: “This is so incredible I’m at a loss for words. Are there seriously people who think the universe is less complex and beautiful than this?”
#DARCEYBUSSELL
Dame Darcey Bussell has stepped down as a judge from Strictly Come Dancing. She will leave the hugely popular BBC show after seven years on the judging panel. @Starsinclass posted: “Good Luck Darcey. You were a sophisticated, genuine, knowledge [sic] member of the #Strictlycomedancing panel. We will miss you.” @Amber_alicia8 pleaded on behalf of a guest judge: “@bbcstrictly please can @alfonso_ribeiro replace Darcey because to be honest I’d be extremely happy with ‘Carlton’ being a full-time judge.” @seannyarmagh added: “Gutted you are leaving, Darcey – you have been fabulous and incredible and genuine! You will be missed so much!”
#PRINCEHARRY
The Duke of Sussex will join US television presenter Oprah Winfrey for a multipart Apple TV documentary series that will focus on mental health.
A shocked @Perditamente tweeted: “Harry and Oprah. Damn.”
@seale15 added: “Prince Harry and Oprah, wow, talking about climate change and mental health and how passionate they are about these subjects. That will make some good conversation.”
@c_harini queried: “Would William and Kate, too, have a role in this, considering their passion for mental wellbeing and the work they’ve done so far on this?”
