Blessed relief

The never-ending saga of Brexit makes one reluctant at times to read a daily paper.

However, I was somewhat cheered this morning to open my Scotsman to find a heading “Pope banned after second breach of drug rules”!

As a good Catholic I gulped and crossed myself before realising it referred to one Jake Pope, a Sale Sharks prop. Highly relieved, I then read on to find that a Chelsea mid-fielder, one Danny Drinkwater, had been charged with drink driving.

Thank you for dispelling the pervading gloom of Brexit, even for a short time.
