Sunamp looks to charge up growth after chair appointment
Sunamp, the East Lothianbased thermal storage company, has named Martin Bloom as its new chairman, succeeding founder chair Bob Pettigrew.
The high-level appointment comes as the heat battery manufacturer gears up for growth having closed a funding round of just over £3 million.
Bloom has a track record of helping build high growth technology and renewable energy companies and developing strategic partnerships. He has experience of six public listings and “extensive” global merger and acquisition (M&A) activities.
His other roles include almost ten years as chairman of Chinese solar company Renesola, chairman of air filtration and clean air solutions specialist Mayair Group, and group chief executive and commercial director of global fuel cell and energy firm Intelligent Energy.
Sunamp chief executive Andrew Bissell said: “Martin’s track record in accelerating commercial growth of early stage technology companies is an excellent fit for Sunamp, and for our future ambitions.
“I am confident he is the right person to chair the board as we drive forward our growth strategy and the company will benefit from his sector expertise and wide network.”
Sunamp said that it expects to almost double its staff to 50 this year. In recent months, it has started volume shipments with two major companies. 0 Martin Bloom has a track record of accelerating growth
