Morton Johansson on the brink

- Andrew Ward

Okay, its time to panic. Tuesday night saw Morton take on Alloa in what was without doubt the most important game of the season so far. A win against a team also threatened by relegation would been a huge step in the right direction – instead, Jonatan Johansson’s men put in a shameless performance.

The 2-1 defeat has put us very much in a relegation dogfight and leaves Johansson’s position as manager almost untenable. On paper, the appointment of the Finn looked relatively good. Inexperienced, granted, but he was adopting a decent squad that looked in good shape under Ray Mckinnon. Alas, the season has been a disaster and it could all end with Morton falling down to League 1.
