Police arrest prisoner on the run from jail

A violent prisoner who absconded from an open jail has been traced by police.

Sean Bonar failed to return to HMP Castle Huntly, near Dundee, this week after being released on licence for home leave after a risk assessment.

Police Scotland, who had issued an appeal for information and warned members of the public not to approach Bonar, said the 29-year-old was found in Glasgow and has been arrested.

In a statement, the force said: “We would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
