Motherwell agree to sign Gallagher
Motherwell have announced the signing of Declan Gallagher from Livingston on a pre-contract deal. The centre-back will move to Fir Park in the summer.
“We have been a longterm admirer of Declan,” Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson told the club’s website. “We are very pleased to have confirmed him for next season.”
Gallagher, 28, has been a mainstay of the Livingston defence this season, forming a solid central defensive trio with Craig Halkett and Alan Lithgow. Halkett will also leave the club in the summer, to join Hearts.
Gallagher came through the ranks at Celtic, had a spell on loan spell at Stranraer, before moving to Clyde, Dundee and then Livingston. He served 16 months in prison in 201516 after being found guilty of assaulting a man outside a hotel in Blantyre.
