APOLOGY AND CORRECTION

A column in last Saturday’s Perspective section by John Mclellan, entitled “Why SNP won outright majority and Growth Commission wasn’t populist” incorrectly referred to Neil Hamilton, the current leader of Ukip in Wales and a former Conservative MP, as a “convicted perjurer”. This is incorrect. Mr Hamilton has never been prosecuted or convicted of perjury. We sincerely apologise to Mr Hamilton for this error and for any distress and offence caused to him and his family.

It is the policy of The Scotsman to correct errors as soon as is practicable.

All complaints should be made to Euan Mcgrory at emcgrory@scotsman.com. Should you wish to take the matter further, contact the Independent Press Standards Organisation, Gate House, 1 Farringdon Street, London, EC4M 7LG
