A stitch in time: Artist brings Mexican purchases to city exhibition

Visitors Beth Shapeero and Cliodhna Cork at the first solo exhibition in Scotland by Mexico City-based artist Pia Camil at the Tramway in Glasgow at the weekend.

Camil’s immense sculptural installations are comprised of T-shirts and jeans acquired from the street markets of Iztapalapa in Mexico City sewn together to creating large stretches of fabric reflecting the markets.
