Barclays boosts Scots arm with five MD hires
● Barclays has announced five new managing directors to support business development and drive growth for its Scotland operations. The hires represent a mix of internal and external recruitment, with Judith Currie, global head of securities services, and Jacinta Stewart, head of HR for Barclays International chief operating office and BX chief operating office, both promoted from within the bank. Mary Mcintosh, MD, head of BX compliance operational services, will join Barclays Scotland in the summer, relocating from London to Glasgow. Meanwhile Scott Mackay joins as head of Barclays International portfolio execution and technology lead for Scotland after more than 15 years at BSKYB, and Raymond Mulligan joins Barclays as chief information officer, savings, investments & wealth management (SI&WM) and private banking & overseas services (PB&OS) after spending two decades with Credit Suisse.

has appointed Stephen Clark as senior associate to its corporate law team. Clark brings 12 years of experience and is dual-qualified in English and Scots law. Practising across a range of corporate law disciplines with a particular focus on equity investment and highgrowth companies, he is now based in the firm’s Edinburgh office. As well as spending ten years as GM at Holiday Inn Express Inverness, Davies has also led the teams at Pentahotel Inverness and Golf View Hotel & Spa. Her most recent role saw her take charge of the food and beverage team at Inverness College. She will oversee the launch and opening of the 130-room hotel which is being brought to Inverness by owner, Molo Hotels, and operator, RBH.

● Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has strengthened its tax practice in Scotland by appointing a new corporate tax partner, based in Glasgow. Kal Sangha joins RSM from KPMG where he was a director in the tax team advising a broad portfolio of clients ranging from

large corporates and multinationals, to owner managed businesses across Scotland and the UK. In his new role, Sangha will work closely with David Payne in leading the tax practice in Glasgow and in supporting the continuing growth of the Scottish practice and corporate client base.
● The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Glasgow has announced two new live entertainment appointments. Julie Carson has been promoted to head of ticketing with responsibility for maximising ticketing delivery across the SEC, while James Graham has been promoted to head of live entertainment programming responsible for driving content to optimise sales profitability. Both roles will include developing strategic and tactical initiatives and managing the live entertainment programming and ticketing teams.
● Scottish specialist criminal law firm MTM Defence Lawyers has appointed solicitor Sophie Russell to its Edinburgh team. Russell will be working alongside solicitor-advocate Neil Hay to service MTM’S private client caseload in the capital. Hay said: “Sophie’s appointment comes at a time when our private client caseload is growing at an exponential rate in Edinburgh.”
● Livingston-headquartered WFS Technologies has lifted its senior management team with the appointment of Richard Adams as sales channel director. Adams will oversea the wireless subsea technology firm’s defence activities.
