Motherwell More derbies wanted

While we can plan for the beach this summer, and another top-flight campaign, our Saturday opponents, Hamilton Accies, are still sweating.

It is condescending to suggest “wee” Accies can aspire to no more than Premiership survival but their continued presence is commendable while others, with bigger resources, flounder – and it is hard to think that playing them three or four times a season does not enhance our own campaign. A derby, even a small one, is more interesting than another generic game against Kilmarnock, Dunfermline or potentially four trips to Dundee. Fingers crossed, therefore, Accies produce another mini-miracle and stay up. After Saturday, of course.
