It wasn’t the biggest sporting comeback story of the weekend but overturning Friday evening’s half-time deficit to finally beat this season’s bogey team had us Arabs punching the air with delight at full-time.

Given the importance of the game it was puzzling that the manager benched his two top scorers and gave game time to a player who, until that week, had hitherto been one of the forgotten men at Tannadice. Osman Sow’s appearance was all the more bizarre given that he had been detained at Stockholm airport just days earlier.

With Sow clearly struggling for fitness, sense finally prevailed, with both Clark and Safranko having a significant say in the final outcome.
